Description
Got a (new and cheap) grafik tablet and this is the result of the attempt to get used to it.PS CS
Too much time (for more than a week 3 hours each day), bloodshot eyes, lots of coffee and some spider solitair to relax.

Actually the face was what I wanted to focuss on and than the rest of the picture developed afterwards. I didn't really have a concept :/ The background just came up to my mind, cos soon there will be a medival festival in my town and inspired by that (huh...Im sooo excited
The hair didn't turn out as I wanted it: definatly need to get tutorials on that. And on horselegs ... and... and...

All you need now is to refine your use of color. I know arenhaus can be a little on the blunt side sometimes, but his advice is good.
For instance, if you're using green, try not to use light shades of the same green for highligts and darker shades for shadows. Experiment with a touch of red or purple in the shadows, and perhaps a touch of yellow or blue in the highligts, depending on your general lighting situation.
Be mindful of reflected light (light not coming from your main light source). You took a tentative step in that direction with the rider's forearm, and it makes a difference; it gives it a sense of volume. Well, enough of that.
Let me just add that if this is your first attempt to use a tablet, then it was a good one. Keep it up!

I guess I will just let this pic be this way and take your advices into the next work. The more I look at it I get tired of it, of the motif. Sometimes it feels better to do something completely new.
